A dream, a mission,
a family business.

From a young age, Marius dreamed of becoming a shoemaker. Not by chance, but out of a deep conviction that there is something noble in transforming a piece of leather into an object that lasts, that accompanies, that says something about the person who wears it.

The road to that dream took him to Italy, where he worked for a major manufacturer of metal accessories for leather goods — a field invisible to the general public, yet essential to the great fashion houses. Through this work, Marius crossed the thresholds of factories few have access to: the workshops of suppliers to the world's largest luxury brands. There he met legends of the craft — people who knew that a two-millimetre detail can make the difference between an object and a masterpiece, and who shared with him, with rare generosity, the secrets of a centuries-old trade.

In 1997, Marius started with watch straps — a small, seemingly modest product, yet a revealing one. A watch strap is an object you cannot hide behind: every cut, every stitch, every millimetre of finish is visible. Among watch enthusiasts and wearers, Bocane quickly became a name spoken with respect. From that first strap, attention to the smallest details — the ones many overlook — has remained our signature.

In 2010, Andreea joined Marius — and Bocane became what it is today: a family business, where everyone has their place. Marius is in the workshop, at the workbench, where leather takes shape. Andreea is our voice — the one who speaks daily with customers, listens to their wishes, helps them find the bag they have always dreamed of, and carries the Bocane story forward on social media.

Today, the workshop in Cumpăna, Constanța, works primarily on made-to-order bags — each one unique, chosen in every detail by the person who will carry it — and premium watch straps, the root from which everything we are has grown.

We do not mass-produce. We do not rush what deserves time. And we never forget where we started — from a dream, from a workbench, from the belief that Romania can create beauty.
